OPS (Operations)

On Stellar (the network behind Lumens/XLM), an Operation is a single specific action performed by an account. Whether someone is sending money, trading assets, or creating a new account, each of these is recorded as an Operation.

Think of a Transaction as a container or envelope. Inside that envelope, you can put one or multiple Operations. This design makes Stellar extremely efficient and flexible. Most operations are incredibly cheap – often costing less than a fraction of a penny – which is why Stellar is popular for real-world payments and everyday financial activities.
